Question by Wouldn’t you know it: How is the value of currency weighed and calculated relative to other currencies.?
In terms a layman can understand, please explain how the value of currency is determined relative to other currencies? You answer doesn’t have to be terrible complex as I wouldn’t understand the answer anyways. Each day money is gained and lost forex trading. How is the value of each currency determined? Why would a pound be worth more than an American dollar today, but 5 months from now its relative value could shrink or grow. What changes occur that would cause the rise and fall of values between currencies?

Currency value is determine by the purchasers of the currency. These are primarily travelers, governments and Forex traders. FOREX stands for Foreign Exchange. There are many factors that currency traders, governments and businesses take into consideration in determining the fair market value of a currency.

Fair mrket value is the price at which a willing buyer and a willing seller come together. The buyer must factor in many elements and considerations to try to accurately assess a currency’s value at any given time.

Factors affecting currency value are political situation and stability of the country, economic situation (jobs, unemployment, work ethic, infrastructure, inflation and direction of the economy), perception from outside, demographics, isolation vs. openness (for example China is becoming more open, more transparent and this helps. Cuba is very closed and isolated. Venezuela is becoming more isolated by some of its recent actions), natural resources, weather factors such as drought, tsunamis, earthquake and floods, war and conflicts.

That he is not doing very well.

Trading currencies SUCCESSFULLY means just one thing and one thing only — retirement after less that 5 years.

Anybody trading for 20 years and still working can’t call himself a successful trader. No wonder he is stressed. He should have received his Aha! some 15 years ago and find himself another occupation.

Lots of different companies, some have nice user friendly software, some have the most excellent spreads (difference between the buy and sell price) and some have certain benefits others might not have.

Download a bunch of demos and try them all out and check the websites for details of what they offer, then see what you think.

With a global currency, the economy of one country would not effect the economy of the others, or so they say. I don’t believe that would be the case with all the global investment going on. It would still create a domino effect. It would make globalization easier but would make the trade deficit easier to calculate realistically. Geithner said he would consider a new currency. Worried?

The ultimate goal is a one world government and global currency if you believe in the NWO. And after hearing China suggest it and Geithner say he’s open to it, I think there’s something going on that A LOT of people aren’t aware of.

Please save your energy by not telling me there are risks involved in trading foreign currency and that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I know these things already. I just need to know if I can trust Forex.com. Thank you.

Maybe I should restate the question. I don’t need links to other forex-like sites offering similar services. Then I’d have to ask about those as well.

They look like a reputable forex trading company.
They’ve won a lot of awards… the latest of which was Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies List (2007)

And no it doesn’t sound too good to be true – it looks genuine.
