A:  InteractiveBrokers is your best bet. Their platform looks complex to the novice but if your a serious trader it has all the info you need to trade effectively and cheaply. Commissions are the cheapest around.
If you like to trade options, Thinkorswim is great. It has a powerful analysis page that will tell you you exact profit and loss. Commissions are comparable to most brokerages because it will match most brokerages. They also have weekly conference call that talk about their platform and trading ideas.
