I hve been on demo accounts for currency trading and i have good gains but to open a live account i dont have the funds as you have to make a deposit first.

I would like a job in currency trading or for someone to put up a little money so i can get started.

this is a 5 dollar paper currency that i wonted to see the value of it just to see what i have it was from a bank to a cotton plantation they traded for gold

I suggest you sell your research as an eBook on ebay amd perhaps consider charging people to attend ‘training classes’ in Forex gambling (typically there is a lot more money to be made in selling ‘How To’ books and holding seminars etc. than in actually doing any real trading)

Hi, i am 18 yrs old. I want to start trading. What is the best option for me, like what type of trading should i start? Should i go into currency trading? stock market trading?

Set up a practice account on your computer. Fund it with make believe money. Use an amount that you feel you can reasonably come up with when it is time to invest real dollars.
You can use Yahoo Finance and research stocks, bonds, etf’s, etc.
Pick out soem stocks you like or industries that you like and do your research, called due dilligence.
Pick an entry point, do a “make believe” buy from your “make believe” money. See how you do, follow the stock and see what make believe profit or loss. You can make judgments about stop loss limits, exit points, etc.
Many brokers have free seminars that you can attend. Learn as much as you can before you put real money on the line.

I am an undergrad student with a 3.7 GPA in an finance program ranked in the top 10 nationally. I will graduate early (this December) and am also studying to take the CFA level 1 in June.

I only tell you this so you know a little about my background and understand I am prepared to LEARN how to trade. I am not looking for a get rich quick scheme, but rather, want to study the art of trading until I can consistently make positive returns on FOREX during my spare time. Of course, who knows, if it goes well maybe it will become my career. More than anything though, it seems really interesting and I would like to learn more.

So, what books etc do I need to read to understand how to trade on FOREX? I understand it will take some work, but can anyone lay out a plan to follow in order to become a successful trader? For example, read x,y,x, while trading on a demo account, then open a real account and do x,y,z etc.

Please don’t recommend trading programs like FOREX tracer etc! There is no way I am going to let a program control what happens to my money and, to my understanding, most all of these programs are scams. I have to go with the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Also, for any traders out there…

What’s your holding period return for a typical month and how many hours/day do you trade to generate that return?

If I have limited capital to trade with, will this significantly impact my ability to utilize effective trading strategies?

I would appreciate any advice on finding a brokerage firm that offers trading in MANY DIFFERENT markets ie.(Forex, Futures, Indexes, Stocks). I have looked online and could’nt find any. Does anyone know of one?

in Canada that allows stocks,options futures AND forex, I am having a hard time finding one, even a US broker would suffice but they either allow futures OR forex, not both..thanks in advance
