Like a sharebuilder, only for trading currency

Best answer:

Answer by Jim
When I was getting into FX, I found a ton of companies to trade with, heck the marketing guys still call me. I am pretty sure that you need a minimum of $ 100.00 to trade. Do a search for the mini’s. That allows you to trade smaller dollar amount with more leverage. Be careful, I think its a scam.

Question by Ali: Can you trade in Bonds and Mutual funds like you trade in stocks forex and commodities?
i am completely novice and want to know if this is possible with online software?

Best answer:

Answer by Common Sense
The answer is yes. However the liquidity on many bonds is very low. If you don’t know what you’re doing…. you’ll get totally screwed. (The same problem exists with many FX and futures during many times of a 24 hour period…. perhaps not as bad for some).

Learn something easier for the first 3-5 years… Stocks will give you trading experience without the higher risk of Bonds, Forex & Commodities (Futures). Bonds can also be traded via many ETF’s.

Question by Shayan: Advantages / Disadvantages of having a (semi) global currency / trade bloc?
Hey, well ive got a test in a couple of days so yeah thought id try gain insight into this topic. So say the Asian Pacific Union goes through (asia pacific , Aus , China, U.S , India incl.)… and a singular currency is developed for this union. (Much like a second E.U) what would be the economic implications for countries within this union? So far i have these points ….
Positives
Increased specialisation as each of the nations can import goods cheaper
Less hostility between nations as they are increasingly dependant on each other for trade reasons.
Due to increased specialisation; incresed efficiency and overall increased economic output while at the same time decreseing E.U’s ability to ‘bully’ outsider nations.
Singular currency makes it easier to compare prices and hence increases competition.

AGAINST
Asia Pacific Union could result to job losses in developed nations since there are no trade barriers. – Forcing specialisation for counries where it is unwanted?
The singular currency would mean low low inflation rates in developed nations as opposed to a very high inflation rate in the developing asian nations.

Now, although i will be conducting my own research before my test i thought it may help if i post here; how does the E.U combat this inflation problem? is there a singular interest rate ? or does it fluctuate accross the nations and if they do what happens to the banks with high rates, does all the money get concentrated here? if you could please help answer these questions aswell as add on to my pro’s and conn’s that would be greatly appreciated thanks…

Best answer:

Answer by I , a happy Bolshevik
Having another currency right now would cause a collapse of the world trade. Why? Because many countries have their Central Bank reserves on US dollars, yes, I know that the Green Back will be replaced, because it is a “sick currency”, but this change has its drawbacks, for example the Yuan is not convertible, and that is a condition any new International Currency ought to have.
Right now Brazil, Russia, China and India are using their own currencies for their trade because they know that US dollar is plummeting and to keep their monetary reserves on US dollar is dangerous.

All this reflects the irreversible agony of Capitalism.

im sure everyone knows the US dollar is falling, is this the window of opportunity that we wouldnt want to miss? please get back to me with your insight and why you think so

Best answer:

Answer by raringvt
Don’t invest in what has been doing well…invest in what’s going to do well. If everyone knows it like you said–you’ve missed the boat. The best way to make money is to invest in what’s not hot right now. Look at everyone getting killed in real estate right now–it’s a simple case of being late to the party. The same is likely to happen in currency, commodities, and anything else that has performed exceptionally well recently.

Question by Christian44: How would a Forex currency carry trade work?
How would this trade work? How would one enter into a trade correctly? Would the interest rate be the quoted one or the direct deposit one? How would one lose money on a forex carry trade? Do you know how to predict profit and loss scenarios to see how the trade may go? How would doing a currency trade between the dollar and the Brazilian real work? Would a country’s capital controls interfere with this trade. For example, I heard that several countries were imposing taxes on bonds, what would a forex investor have to look out for? Thank You
What is your recommended stop placements? How much leverage should I use? Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by chrisfs2
That’s lots of questions and if I knew the exact answers to stop placements I would be very rich.
Until you have done forex for a while , you should use a low leverage. 20:1 would be the maximum.
Anything bigger and you are kicked out of trades at the slightest move against you.

In Forex, a carry trade is trade that borrows money from a low yielding currency and invests in a higher yielding currency which the intention of making money from the difference in interest rates.
So you would ‘sell’ a low yielding currency (usually the yen, or maybe the dollar right now) and buy a higher yielding one(like maybe the NZ dollar or Aussie Dollar),

Would the interest rate be the quoted one or the direct deposit one?
When I trade forex, the broker clearly posted the interest rates that were paid.

How would one lose money on a forex carry trade?
Ones loses money when the currencies go the opposite direction far enough for long enough to outweigh any money you’ll be making on the interest spread.

Do you know how to predict profit and loss scenarios to see how the trade may go?
No, If I did I would be super mega rich.

Would a country’s capital controls interfere with this trade. For example, I heard that several countries were imposing taxes on bonds, what would a forex investor have to look out for?
I haven’t found that a forex investor runs into that since you aren’t buying bonds directly. Check with your broker.

I would like to recommend Oanda.com as a great forex broker. They have tight fair spreads, reasonable leverage and good customer service.

could you describe it in details that how can I trade Forex by using news only?e.g When shall I read news and when shall I execute a trade based on that?

Best answer:

Answer by dete49
Its very very hard to trade the news if your talking about as the news is released. The spreads are widened and most brokers play against you or hedge the trades during news.I would not recommend it if your new to Forex trading you could easily lose all your money.
